In this 6 week intermediate course, students expand on the topics and skills learned in Jewelry 1. The curriculum is flexible based on what students want to make and learn. Some techniques learned in this course are sawing techniques, hinge making, hollow forms, rivets, advanced soldering techniques, and prong settings. Jewelry 1 or prior approval from the instructor required to take this course. Some materials are included, and more are available for purchase in the studio.

Available Sessions: 

  • September 11-October 16th, Wednesdays 6-9pm
  • November 6th-December 11th, Wednesdays 6-9pm (Class Schedule for this session may extend by one week an end Dec. 18th, if enrolled students wish to skip November 27th, due to the proximity to Thanksgiving)

Please note that class schedules may adjust slightly due to snow days, holidays, etc. 

 

Instructor Bio:

Kylie Weinzierl is a Boston area interdisciplinary artist, with a primary focus in metalsmithing, a background in sound art, multimedia installation and fabrication, as well as glass work, textile, and performance. Kylie received a Bachelor of the Arts from Arizona State University in 2019, and a Master of Fine Arts from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in February 2024. Kylie is the head Jewelry Instructor at Stonybrook Metal Arts & Sculpture School in Jamaica Plain and the Metals Studio Manager at Lexington Arts and Crafts Society in Lexington, MA.
