Intro to Forming:Make a Spoon

with Kylie Weinzierl

$150

In this beginner level workshop, students will learn some of the earliest techniques of metal forging. Using a variety of hammers and mallets, as well as tools like anvils, dapping blocks, steel forming stakes and other raising and sinking tools, students will learn how to shape and texture metal, anneal, rivet, and solder as we work to make decorative copper spoons out of sheet metal. All materials are included. Students who wish to work in sterling silver may request and pre-pay for it before the start of class, if desired.
